How to stay motivated

• Spend time with positive, motivated people who ideally have been in a similar situation and have succeeded. Ask them for referrals. Networking is important
• Focus on what you want to achieve and don’t waste negative energy on what is negative about your current place of employment
• Don’t worry about your age. If you are young, focus on your enthusiasm, energy, flexibility and drive. If you are older focus on your experience, stability and life skills.
• Devote time to job hunting and preparing for interviews. It is the people with the get up and go, who are most likely to get the job
• One of the most important attributes to display in a job interview is enthusiasm. The hard skills can be taught, but if you have the right attitude you will have the edge on your competitors.
• Make sure that you eat well, get sufficient sleep and exercise. Changing jobs can be quite stressful
• Ensure that you have clean pressed clothes that are suitable for job interviews, as sometimes you may have to attend an interview at short notice
